AI Native Engineer

About the Job
AI is reshaping how software gets built — and our clients know it. They're asking for engineers who don't just use AI tools occasionally, but who have made them a core part of how they work. We've already placed engineers with these skills and seen the impact firsthand. Clients are willing to pay more for them, and demand is only growing.

We're building a bench of AI-Native engineers — people who can demonstrate their current setup and the way they build today. You don't need to be available immediately or tied to a specific stack. You just need to be genuinely doing this work.

The Role:

This is a senior individual contributor role. You will own features end-to-end, contribute to how AI is used within the team, and help shape effective ways of working as these tools continue to evolve.

We're looking for an engineer who has meaningfully changed how they build software — someone who applies generative AI across all facets of the SDLC to deliver well-designed, well-architected solutions faster. You can take on problems that would normally require a team, move quickly through unfamiliar codebases, and consistently deliver quality outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Build AI infrastructure for the team:
Contribute to team-level context files, prompt patterns, and workflow templates. Codify what works so everyone gets faster, not just you.
  • Deliver end-to-end features using agentic tools:
Orchestrate agents to build features across multiple files and services. You scope the work, set up the context, let the agents run, and validate the output. You're directing the build, not typing every line.
  • Turn requests into agent-ready tasks:
Take requirements and break them into chunks an AI agent can complete on its own, with clear specs, constraints, and acceptance criteria. Write context files (CLAUDE.md, .cursorrules) that give agents what they need to execute without constant hand-holding.
  • Review AI output PRs like a Tech Lead PR:
Read everything that gets generated. Catch the architectural shortcuts, the subtle security gaps, the logic that looks right but isn't. You're accountable for what ships, not the agent.
  • Debug with structured context, not guesswork:
Feed agents the right combination of logs, stack traces, and system state to accelerate root cause analysis. You know how to frame a debugging problem so an AI tool can actually help, rather than just asking "what's wrong with this.

What We're Looking For:

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong fundamentals including architecture, testing, security, deployment, and observability
  • Proven track record of delivering production systems
  • Regular, practical use of AI tools in development workflows, with clear examples of impact
  • Ability to use AI tools effectively across various stages of the SDLC
  • Strong code review skills and the ability to critically assess generated output
  • Comfortable working across large or unfamiliar codebases
  • Experience using AI tools for multi-file or architectural changes
  • Experience improving team-level engineering practices
  • A point of view on how AI-assisted development is evolving
